Industrial leaser one of few women in industry. Stephanie Aldea hopes to break the mold in the industrial leasing business. Growing up in Lakeshore, she went to the University of Houston on an athletic scholarship before transferring to West Virginia, where she received a degree in economics and human resources.
Upon arriving back home, she started working for her dad Terry Aldea’s Eco Developments; Terry has been a developer and industrial leaser for 25 years. “My father is a really big influence on me. I learned about development and the economics behind building, leasing and acquiring assets,” Stephanie said. She counts other influences such as Bethenny Frankel, creator of the Skinnygirl brand, and Sara Blakely who is the founder of Spanx. “They both found a void in the market, and broke the liquor and apparel industry for women,” she said.
It didn’t take long for Stephanie to soon get bitten by the development and leasing bug, and branch out on her own.
